Chicken feet and PJ's

This was an interesting conversation to overhear tonight...

LL: Are you her mom?
Michelle: Yes I am.
LL: Why did you name her _____?
Michelle: That's the name her mom gave her.
LL: But you said that you were her mom.
Michelle: Yeah, well I am kind of her mom. Brian???
Bry: You know how your mom is getting better right now? That's like ____'s mom.
LL: Oh, so you're her foster mom?
Michelle: Yep! I'm kind of her mom, just like Ms. Julie is kind of like your mom.
LL: Yeah, but I don't call her my mom.

LL quotes:
- "Lucy, no offense, but you need to brush your teeth!"
- "This is what my face looks like when I'm bored."
- I got home a little bit earlier than Bry and LL, so I decided to put some pajama pants on and lay around for a second. When LL walked in the door, her jaw dropped and her reaction was priceless! LL: "What happened to you?" Me: "Nothing. What? Am I not allowed to wear pj's when it's daylight?" LL: "No! Are you sick?" It was hilarious!
- "I have the ability to do a front flip."

Our Little Lady was able to join a few friends at a "Frozen Party" tonight! They watched Frozen and did a few frozen-like crafts together. Thanks so much, Jason and Michelle, for inviting us!!

"I want to draw chicken feet." Yeah, so apparently the rules were to keep the shaving cream on the table. I think our girl interpreted that a little bit differently.

Clean up was FUN. :)

About Us:

We began our foster journey in mid-August 2013. We finished our classes in October, had our home study in early January, and we were licensed on February 7, 2014. After seven calls from CPS, we received our first placement, a 7-year-old girl (our Little Lady, or LL for short) on April 3, 2014. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our journey through the craziness that is foster care. Most importantly, thanks for your prayers, love, and support. We hope to encourage fellow foster/adoptive parents as we document our ups and downs each day.
