Happy "Father's" Day?

From Bry:

It's so awkward to shop for a Father's Day card for the little girl in your life that loved another father before you and more than you...

All Father's Day cards seemed like a blatant lie to me:
-Thanks for always being there
-A dad shares so much and gladly
-It's always been a comfort to know that you're there no matter what happens
-Happy, confident, grateful daughters come from strong, encouraging, loving dads
-I hope you know what a difference your love has made
-We appreciate all the good you do in this world and all the good ways you've influenced us
-To a wonderful father

The only accurate one I saw:
"From your loving daughter.  I'm so glad you're my dad."

This is the one she wanted to buy for her dad:

This is the one we actually bought:

It's a hologram hamster happy birthday card that dances along to "The Hamster Song." It's perfect.

LL's quotes:
- (While singing along to the Beach Boys' Barbara Ann) "Can you please get my dress up bin down? I have old dresses in there. They'll go along with the song."
- "I thought ballerinas said they never sweat, but I'm sweatin' over here."
- "We don't have to pray over the appetizers."
- (While playing Barbies) "You ain't gonna take the key away from my man."

There's nothing better than French toast with homemade bread!

Me: "How'd you learn how to draw like that?" LL: "It's natural."

"It looks like Mr. Brian, only stronger. You're attracted to something. You're far away getting something out of the car."

FaceTiming my dad, or I guess his cats.

Lazy morning at home...breakfast, FaceTime, Barbies...

Walking to the playground at her school.

Playing with her new flying fairy.

Our little monkey.

"I get to play on the second grade monkey bars now!!!"

Bahama Bucks!

Father's Day dinner at one of our favorite places - Texas Roadhouse!

Tent setup in the living room again.

Wish you could see her hilarious growling face here...

...and her sweet, adorable face in this one.

4th outfit today! "This is what princesses do."

About Us:

We began our foster journey in mid-August 2013. We finished our classes in October, had our home study in early January, and we were licensed on February 7, 2014. After seven calls from CPS, we received our first placement, a 7-year-old girl (our Little Lady, or LL for short) on April 3, 2014. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our journey through the craziness that is foster care. Most importantly, thanks for your prayers, love, and support. We hope to encourage fellow foster/adoptive parents as we document our ups and downs each day.
