Day 82 with our Little Lady

Our Little Lady saw her mom for the first time in about 11 weeks today.

She was (finally) able to deliver the stack of gifts, notes, drawings, pictures, and cards she's been making for them for the last few months.

She was so excited to tell us about the visit when we got home. I'm curious to see if this visit causes her to regress or if it'll be a good thing for her.

LL's quotes:
- "I'm already smarter than the Smarty Pants cards."
- "Guess who I got to see today? I'll give you a few hints. She has big wrists and she's my mom."

She loves listening to the hamster song on her dad's Father's Day card. We forgot to take this one with us.

Praying before dinner. Don't worry - her dinner wasn't candy; Bry's was finished first, ours was still in the oven. :)

Smoothies for dessert!

Tucking in Emma for bed. She wanted to take the baby doll bed into the top bunk, but we were able to talk her out of it.

About Us:

We began our foster journey in mid-August 2013. We finished our classes in October, had our home study in early January, and we were licensed on February 7, 2014. After seven calls from CPS, we received our first placement, a 7-year-old girl (our Little Lady, or LL for short) on April 3, 2014. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our journey through the craziness that is foster care. Most importantly, thanks for your prayers, love, and support. We hope to encourage fellow foster/adoptive parents as we document our ups and downs each day.

  1. That's a long time for her to go with out seeing her Mom. I pray that it is a good thing for her, that she doesn't regress and that they don't do that to her again. That has to be confusing. She is so blessed to have y'all! I hope that one day, she realizes that. xoxox

    1. Thank you, Kimberly. Yes, it was waaaaayyyy longer than I would've ever been able to go without seeing my mom. We've seen a pretty significant dip in her attitude, but I'm sure it'll improve quickly. It's all a roller coaster! Thanks for your prayers!
