Siri, show me the REAL princesses

I tried to explain that we don't go to festivals or carnivals every day, but ironically, we attended our second book fair and festival in 24 hours this morning!

Watching the older students play on the keyboard. She loves music! She plays her recorder, sings, and she desperately wants to learn how to play the violin.

LL "buying" stickers from the 1st grade teachers. They were so sweet and patient with her!

"French toast," as she calls it.

Flavored water. She felt fancy in the French Boutique room!

LL just being a kid and playing in the water fountain for a little bit!

Late afternoon showing of The Muppets Movie...LL's first movie in two years!

Thanks for the gifts from Arizona, Matt and Jan!

LL's quotes:
- While demonstrating her ballet moves, she said, "This is part two: the hard music. It's hardcore."
- It's hilarious to listen to her ask Siri to look things up for her (with me sitting next to her while she uses the phone, of course.) I'm sure she knows what she's talking about, but I don't think she understands that a computer can't read her mind. Some of her searches include: "Show me the princesses, the video of all of them singing, with the long hair, but not the blonde one, and the real princesses." Siri is left understandably confused and attempts to search for princesses, to which LL screams out, "No - all the real princesses!" Another one of her recent Siri requests was, "Umm play the song that umm sounds like ummm play the first umm just play music." She's hilarious!
- "Don't fast forward the commercials...that's my free time! Can you please go back to the beginning of my free time?"

About Us:

We began our foster journey in mid-August 2013. We finished our classes in October, had our home study in early January, and we were licensed on February 7, 2014. After seven calls from CPS, we received our first placement, a 7-year-old girl (our Little Lady, or LL for short) on April 3, 2014. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our journey through the craziness that is foster care. Most importantly, thanks for your prayers, love, and support. We hope to encourage fellow foster/adoptive parents as we document our ups and downs each day.
