Today was one of those days that I saw our Little Lady for about 10 minutes before it was time to start our bedtime routine.
Working late with kids is so different than working late when you don't have them. We consider the day to be "over" around 6:30 or 6:45, when we start our nightly routine to get ready for bed. When I have to work late and I get home at like 6:25, it's hard to feel like I was able to spend any quality time with Bry and LL that day.
I'm going to do everything I can to work super hard during the day so I can be fully present and home with them by 5:30 every night. Seems like a good goal to me!
LL's quotes:
- "Can y'all work a little bit later tonight? I've got some playing to do."
- "TV was black and white when you were in college."
Her koala friend found a new home. She reads with us at night under the top bunk. LL put her there on her own. We thought it was adorable!

About Us:
We began our foster journey in mid-August 2013. We finished our classes in October, had our home study in early January, and we were licensed on February 7, 2014. After seven calls from CPS, we received our first placement, a 7-year-old girl (our Little Lady, or LL for short) on April 3, 2014. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our journey through the craziness that is foster care. Most importantly, thanks for your prayers, love, and support. We hope to encourage fellow foster/adoptive parents as we document our ups and downs each day.
