Ms. Twinkle Toes

We had another great day in CO! The itenerary for today included hiking, shopping with Bry, a photo shoot, and a fancy dinner.

We are soaking up every minute we have with our Little Lady, since we don't know the future for her family, or for ours.

Sometimes I look at her and feel like I've known her since the day she was born. Sometimes she acts much older than her age and I get a glimpse into her teenage years. And sometimes I sense her innocent spirit and remember that she's only 7 years old. She was born the same year when Dreamgirls and Night at the Museum (the first one) came out. The same year The Lake House came out (remember Sandie's amazing haircut??) So, that wasn't too long ago!

We are trusting that the Lord knows her future and he's going to be with her every step of the way, even if we can't be.

But, selfishly, I'd really love to see it unfold.

LL's quotes:
- "Call me Twinkle Toes!"
- "This is how a lady walks."

Starting the day off right - playing Barbies with my amazing mom-in-law, Jan!

Family hike in the Rockies.

Spying on the elk.

Riding in Matt's Jeep!

Bry took a pic with this legendary statue when we were here last summer, and LL saw it on the wall in his office. She decided she wanted a pic with him, too!

Her best shopping pose!

Helping make breakfast!

Our beautiful Twinkle Toes! :)

Breathtaking. I say this every year...can we just stay here forever????

At the end of our photo shoot!

The girls!

The internet isn't working on my laptop, so I can't wait to get home and edit these pics. These are pics taken of pics on the laptop. Such a beautiful night. I'll never forget this time with her.

Finishing the day the same way we started it. Barbies before bed.

About Us:

We began our foster journey in mid-August 2013. We finished our classes in October, had our home study in early January, and we were licensed on February 7, 2014. After seven calls from CPS, we received our first placement, a 7-year-old girl (our Little Lady, or LL for short) on April 3, 2014. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our journey through the craziness that is foster care. Most importantly, thanks for your prayers, love, and support. We hope to encourage fellow foster/adoptive parents as we document our ups and downs each day.

  1. I am tearing up just thinking of all the opportunities you are giving this little girl. Showing her not only what a loving family is supposed to look like but also instilling in her a faith in God that hopefully she will always remember ♡
